She's at it again, folks, she's made another zine. This one is titled "My Wild Heart Bleeds With Yours: Writings About Lesbian Vampires by Sara Century." The preorder is now live (or undead, if you'd prefer) at saracentury.gumroad.com. This is actually my second lesbian vampire zine, but it's so different from the last one that it feels like we're in totally new territory right now. Anyway, preorders help me (and most indie creators) greatly! Thanks so much to everyone who has been so supportive of my zines, I can't tell you how wonderful it's been.

Welcome to the twenty-second episode of Best Issue Ever! Today's guest is Karen Charm, who will be well-known to many X-fans for their great X-Men fan art, prints, and zines. They also do a good amount of pro work for publishers like Scholastic, so follow them pretty much across social media @charmgardens.
Okay, you love them and I love them so we're back to the X-Men, baby! We're talking about Generation Next #4, right near the end of the Age of Apocalypse crossover THIRTY YEARS AGO. Time, what even is it. This issue is written by *mumbles* Scott Lobdell, drawn by Chris Bachalo and Mark Buckingham, colored by Steve Buccellato and Electric Crayon, and lettered by good ole Richard Starkings and Comicraft.
This podcast is recorded in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is edited by Sara Century. The theme music is provided by Earth Control Pill, whose work is on Bandcamp.

Welcome to the twentieth episode of Best Issue Ever! Today's guest is Khaliden Nas, who is the host of the incredible Referential podcast! We just recorded an episode about Agatha All Along that is very fun, so go check out the feed!
Okay, we're talking about the George Perez run! This is Wonder Woman Vol. 2 #20 by George Perez, Bob McLeod, Carl Gafford, John Costanza, and edited by Karen Berger. Holy heck! This comic is widely available digitally as well as in trade, and it was one of the tales selected for the Greatest Wonder Woman Stories Ever Told.

Welcome to the nineteenth episode of Best Issue Ever! Today's guest is Tim Price who hosts the Outcasters, a Batman & the Outsiders podcast via the Wright On Network. That's a podcast network we talked more about in Episode 10 featuring its founder, AJ Wright, so check that out if you haven't.
Okay, we're talking about Bone #10, which is The Great Cow Race! This comic is by Jeff Smith. He's still one of the only people who has ever worked on this property, which is kind of wild and cool. You can check this out in the Bone Omnibus, which is available basically everywhere.

Welcome to the sixteenth episode of Best Issue Ever! Today's guest is Sween McDervish, an Alpha Flight aficionado like myself! Sween has brought us Alpha Flight #43, which is written by Bill Mantlo, drawn by David Ross, inked by Whilce Portacio, colored by Bob Sharen, and lettered by Ken Bruzenak. It's great!
Sween can be followed on Bluesky. Meanwhile, this week's episode art is a truly glorious piece from Graham Groans, a rad artist and self-described smutster who you can follow on Patreon. It's a really cool piece, so thanks to Sween and Graham for letting me use it for the pod.

No joke, Jeremy has written a LOT, so we'll condense it for the purpose of this bio but check out his work! He's been behind books like Marvel's Unstoppable Wasp, as well as creating originals like The Cold Ever After and Navigating With You, which we talk about here.

Welcome!

Best Issue Ever is a podcast about comics. This series is for talking about issues we love. You can get lots of new recommendations from this pod while hearing some of your favorite creators talk about why comics are awesome. Win-win!

If you would like to support the podcast, the best way to do that is to subscribe directly through the Ko-fi, where you will get a lot of extra episodes and some updates to the behind-the-scenes of creating the podcast.

This is far from Sara's first foray into podcasts! She co-founded QueerSpec Publishing, which released the Decoded Pride speculative fiction anthology three years in a row.  She helms the narrative horror podcasts Decoded Horror Channel and Medusa Mask. She is a co-host of the Bitches On Comics pop culture podcast. She has written MANY articles - you can look up links to her work on her website.

Sara is a horror writer, so you can pick up any number of her books through her Amazon author page. If you'd prefer to avoid Amazon and directly support small publishers (this helps small presses thrive so thank you if so), she has appeared in multiple releases you can buy directly from Weirdpunk Books. This includes her short story collection A Small Light & Other Stories, as well as great Weirdpunk anthologies like The New Flesh and Feral Architecture. Some Weirdpunk authors will be appearing on this podcast, so definitely check them out.

Finally, the best way to get updates from Sara is through her newsletter! She sends it out a few times a year and it's packed with random projects and pet anecdotes.
